Hi Colleen
Thanks for posting Aarre's wins and observations.
I have recently found the source of my stuckness in the level 3 Must Know
valence and it was similar to Aarrre's. My father was domineering in
demands that his children get an education. He pushed me to study and pass
tests and this pressure continued throughout my childhood. I fought it
because I always had more interest in going out and building things than in
study.
In school I met the same pressure from some of the teachers. I especially
recall my 6 grade teacher in a Catholic school who announced that all the
boys in her class must learn the Latin phrases to be alter boys. I was able
to resist the game at that time and refused to learn the lines.

When I started working I found that I had to learn new things to do the
various jobs I had. I was a police officer for a short time and the
pressure there was to know all the street names and addresses in the town so
that I could instantly communicate where I was or how to get to a call with
out hesitation. This was literally a life or death need and subject to peer
pressure from other officers if I appeared inept.

This life time of pressure gradually changed me from wanting "to do things"
to wanting to "know things", which is a valence shift of magnitude.

I am still unwinding the chain of events that lead up to the valence shift
but was delighted to finally see how it all came about.

Keep on TROMing

Pete

Subject: [TROM1] RE Similarities and Differences

This is from and email I received from Aarre who is visiting the ancestral
homeland with his mother:

-I will give you any trom details. I give you blanket approval to post any
of my auditing wins, including trom, unless I specifically state otherwise.
I'm thinking that I should start people soon. Please ask Slim this.

When I compare differences and similarities in trom, it seems like the old
object is 95% different than the new object, and I almost have to imagine
how an old shipyard would be similar to a shopping plaza. I have to imagine
things, such as they are both long and low, and have straight edges. There
are very few similarities, and it is sometimes stretching things to find
similarities. I can understand differences, but what is so important about
similarities?

-I haven't gotten far enough in trom to first hand compare it to scn. as
Slim did. I could imagine that trom would be just like a light switch, and
it would turn off the whole case without addressing the thousands of
incidents. That would be far more efficient and smoother. I believe that
what Slim says is true for that reason.

I look around from the viewpoint of games, and I see my mother doing a game
of enforcing must not be known on me, and that I want things to be known, so
that there is a perpetual games condition which I would like to turn off.
That's on level 4 and 5 though, but I will quiet down my own mind until I
get to those levels. I've seen that I could quieten down my mind, even
though I've been doing it over out-ruds, both physical and mental.
