Pete. Am I misduplicating or are you less than enthused about TROM? It’s as though since the early days when Dennis came up with the breakthrough, it’s old hat now. How can the results that DHS himself said were available be old hat?! Have you completed level 5 and/or do you know anyone who has. I got an edifying email from “Slim” yesterday but that’s the only email I’ve gotten from any of the supposed 80 “members” of the Trom list who have either done Trom or are busily gaining the wonderful results proclaimed? Several that have emailed me don’t seem to even know what it’s about and invalidate it for not working or say they use some other mystical method to help them do it. It’s as though it has slowly petered out from misduplication of not being able to understand it, which of course lies in the responsibility of DHS for misevaluating the ability of people to duplicate and understand. The PRD enabled my acquisition of the title of superliterate with an IQ of 142, and I can’ t figure out what the postulate failure cycle chart is all about and Dennises tape on the subject, (done just 2 months before his death) is far from complete as far as my comprehension is able to discern. Perhaps I missed something in the theory so I’m going back and restudy the principles so as to clear up my my confusion. But why is there any confusion?!! I’m somewhat disappointed in the way Trom is presented irresponsibly in not making sure those interested aren’t shown the pitfalls as far as comprehension of the subject so that it can be applied with certainty. The study tech in Scientology should be understood and applied. This is why I’ve been trying to communicate with trommers so as to get a sound reality about the unusual or difficult parts of the instructions. If it’s easy, it should be made easy to understand. Either it works or it doesn’t and from my judgement in reading the theory plus the predicted gains I’ve gotten so far in levels 2, 3 and 4, it should be given continued credence from all Trommers unless they’ve simply given up trying to accomplish it. Having read everything including listening to the 1994 tapes, I’m still confused as to how to run level 5, but I’ll continue to figure it our somehow. It seems as though Dennis overestimated the ability of people to duplicate and understand level 5 and the postulate failure cycle chart. He seems to take his time in explaining but also with the attitude that it should be easy because he’s so damn smart! It might have been simple for him but that certainly doesn’t mean that it’s easy for the students of Trom, at least the ones I’ve talked to including myself. This is something that has evidently been the case for some time now from the people I have contacted about Trom, and their Q&A as regards their application of it indicates this fact. I think I smell a rat called irresponsibility in the air. JB

Dennis’ friend Greg Pickering who is a collector of scientology material convinced Dennis that the research should be written down and preserved. They did this in collaboration with Dennis dictating the material to tape and Greg typing up the notes to a document. Thus TROM was born. (see Greg’s letter about this at www.tromhelp.com) Dennis then tried to market it in the 1990’s with the help of International Viewpoints magazine, Terry Scott in England and Judith Anderson in Australia. Terry and Judith were the field reps to reproduce and sell the book. This effort netted a few sales but then fell flat. I contacted Terry and Judith and was able to get all the written and taped documents they had and put them up at tromhelp.com for everyone to download and use. This effort produced the many taped lectures by Dennis that had been lost since they were taped in 1994. We now have, as far as I can tell, all the material Dennis produced on the subject of TROM and the workings of the mind. They are available to anyone who wants them. They are all in the public domain so no one can copyright them and there is no incentive to alter them to preserve the copyright status, which is what happened to Hubbard’s materials. Ibm also thinking about the many people like myself who have been constantly demeaned by the church and have no hope to continue as was my plight that I was having to deal with before Trom. I even slugged it out with Ken Oggers (The Pilot) material! Therefore itbs natural for me to wonder about this since we all need Trom, and underneath the tremendous vicissitudes, want it. Like I say, itbs not going to stop me and Ibm not going to lose any sleep over it, but I do consider it a valid ethical consideration which concerns me. It has always been a bit rough for me to look into the eyes of the bewildered knowing why, but also knowing it doesnbt help them a damn bit! I remember years ago when I was scuffling with some ethics shit, some OT friend came by and I could see in his eye that he knew the resolution but he also knew that that wouldnbt help me any.
