>I suspect this is true. Is this also why trplayer doesn't support >stdout? I am a little confused regarding the relationship of trplayer to >Real Networks, and its relationship to the open source community. I develop trplayer using the RealSystem G2 software development kit from RealNetworks, and it is based on the testplay sample program, which is included in that SDK. The SDK comes with a pretty restricted license agreement, so I can't release trplayer under a truly open-source license. I may be able to release the source code under a restricted license; I haven't heard back from RealNetworks about that yet. Normally, I would release anything I develop as open-source software. About implementing output to standard out, the license agreement says that I can't "create a Licensee Application that transcodes any RN [RealNetworks] file format or data type into any other file format or data type." I guess that includes standard wave output sent to standard out. -- Matt Campbell Web site: http://www.crosswinds.net/~mattcamp/ ICQ #: 33005941
