Some Chrsitians believe it is a parable.  I do not.
DAVEH:  Listen Glenn.......As much as I like you, you are brainwashed and trying to spin, spin, spin this again.  Deny, deny, deny.   I know what you believe....I just looked it up in your reference material.  Now you are trying to wiggle out of it by DENY, DENY, DENY.  You can't deceive me......I know what you believe despite what you say.  I've read it in your books!!!

Hmmmmmm.........well now Glenn, that is the way you treat me.  So do you like it when I TELL YOU HOW YOU BELIEVE?!?!?!

1.  It is not an earthly story with a heavenly meaning.
2.  Notice how Jesus starts out his parables.  This is different.  This one says it is literal.
3.  Jesus never named names in his parables.
DAVEH:  There are obviously Bible scholars who agree with me on that, and disagree with you!
Glenn - If I believed like Mormons there is no fire there so it's not such a bad place. Don't need water, if I believed like Mormons, as its all figurative. I don't believe it's a parable.  I have never know Jesus to speak in parables and name names.
