14.  And if Christ be not risen, then is your preaching vain, and your
faith is also vain.

29.  Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead
rise not at all?  Why are they then baptized for the dead?
30.  And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?

Paul is talking about the resurrection here, and asking, to paraphrase
it, if there is no resurrection, then why do the Saints baptize for the
dead?  This tells us that they did baptize for the dead, since baptism is
a necessary ordinance for salvation.  A simple principle of the gospel,
yet many STUMBLE over it.  If you are not baptized, you are of the world,
and have no part in the kingdom of God.   You are a "wannbe"  Christian,
an outsider looking in.
