You ask what is the payoff? I can tell you what I believe the payoff to be. I believe it is the payoff is the saving of people's souls. I have nothing to gain financially.
You mention following the money. The money is in Mormonism. No doubt about that. You are following the money and the peer pressure of living in Salt Lake City.
My wife sang in Salt Lake City and it is changing though. The Christian churches are growing as more and more people more into your city. The Evangelical Free Church in SLC is very large in attendance. The Sunday my wife sang there over 40 people saved and many rededicated their lives to the Lord. Over 125 decisions were made for Christ in one single service.
When I say Christianity rejects Joe Smith I mean Mormonism is a tiny slither compared to millions and millions of Christians. Also, no one, percentage wise, accepts Joe Smith. I do admit you are the fastest growing group right now. I also believe it is because of the dumbing of America. Americans don't know their Bible so they fall for Joe Smith. I am not bragging, but I have not failed to help someone leave Mormonism when they came to me asking questions. I let them read both side of Mormonism. When they do that they leave. Also when one studies the Bible ONLY they leave Mormonism.
