First consider the following verse: 2Co 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. Notice the contrast between the phrase, "the letter killeth" and "the spirit giveth life." Notice also how he speaks of being an able minister of the new testament, "NOT OF THE LETTER, BUT OF THE SPIRIT." Now take notice of how the ministration of the law is called the ministration of death. 2Co 3:7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: Also consider how Paul describes the law as being a ministration of condemnation. 2Co 3:9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. Before when I brought up this passage, you wanted to focus on how the ministry of the law was "glorious." That's fine, but please notice that he calls the ministry of the law a ministry of death and a ministry of condemnation. Do you see it? So the concepts related to each other that Paul is teaching here is that the law is of the letter. The law kills, the law ministers condemnation, and the law ministers death. Do you see this? I'll wait to hear from you before I continue and show why this is important with regards to the sabbath. If you do not see how it is that Paul can say these things about the law, then we will slow down and discuss this first. Peace be with you.
