There truly is no accounting for taste. I happen to like Jimi Hendrix' version of it, although hearing it has never made me feel proud. I just like his style. As an American, I can't say that Canada's national anthem particularly moves me, either, although I suspect there are Canadians that are moved by it. However, on occasion, when I am at a sporting or other event, and I see thousands of Americans singing the national anthem together, I am moved.
