DAVEH:  I certainly can't speak for all LDS folks, but I suspect a lot of them feel the way I do about this.  I personally try to avoid 'hating' because of the effect it has on my thinking and spirituality.  (That's not to say I am a spiritual giant, but rather I don't like the fruits of hate.)  We believe everybody has the right to worship God as they wish.  Our 11th Article of Faith says.....
"We claim the privilege of worshiping Almight God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may."

When I see people making fools of themselves by their public displays of disrespect, I am saddened.  But if they wish to do that, that's OK with me.....as long as they are lawful in their actions.  I suspect many times they do more harm to their cause than good were they to choose a different approach, though.  What I find curious is why they feel compelled to go to such (in your face) extremes at times.  Is that really a fruit of Christian spirituality and love or rather a reflection of Protestantism?

--he's never given this impression, has he? but, if so, when and where was that? [if he does think that Mormons think this, he has cleverly disguised the animosity required (or 'hate'), hasn't he?]
