It sounds like you are saying that if a person is overweight, then he is guilty of gluttony. Can you define overweight? According to some, your weight of 240 with 6'2" height would still be overweight. I don't agree with that, but I have seen it. I am of similar height, weigh about 225, and I am considered overweight by some. You mentioned Jesus being accused of gluttony, yet point to his fasting as evidence he was not a glutton. I have fasted for more than a month, and also for weeks at a time. I have power over my body to eat or not to eat. Yet, people can look at my weight and easily accuse me of gluttony I think. In fact, I find that fasting exasperates my weight. When I break a fast, my body seems to be finely conditioned now to store up fat as quickly as possible, perhaps because it is conditioned to expect the next fast to come along. That's why I found your "daily bread" comment interesting. Perhaps I would have less difficulty if I focused upon small regular meals rather than fasting two or three times a week. I don't know. I'm thinking out loud. Gary wrote: > it's obviously impossible to take this responsibility > at an American voting booth...or even at an American church Do you think voting is wrong? Can you share some of your political views? Do you consider yourself a socialist or communist? I've asked several times before but I don't remember you answering. Do you consider yourself a liberal democrat? Do you consider democracy to be a wrong ideology? Exactly how would you characterize yourself? Peace be with you.
