Check your math again.  :-)  

 

Jesus was crucified 40 years before the destruction of the Temple.

 

Time from Crucifixion to day of Pentecost & Holy Ghost:  40 days.

Time from Crucifixion to destruction of earthly temple:  40 years.

 

Time from the passover lamb to entering the promised land:  40 years.

 

Time of Jesus being tempted of Satan in the wilderness:  40 days.

 

Time of Moses receiving the law in Sinai:  40 days.

 

Are you seeing a pattern here?

 

You used 1948 for the start of Israel, but keep in mind that Israel did

not gain control of Jerusalem until 1967.

 

1967 + 40 = 2007.

 

However, also keep in mind that Israel has still not really taken the

temple mount area.  Technically, they have control, but in political

practice, the Arab Muslims have it.
