g, I certainly
agree that the Kingdom of God is invisible, especially to this world which
is ruled by the prince of the powers of the air. However, we are to be
salt and light as much as possible. One way to do that is to do as much as
we can to be lights not hidden under a bushel. We don’t light the
world by caving in to evil political forces. We do what we can. The
Lord will do His part, whatever that may be—the rest is up to Him. I don’t
expect the Rep Party to usher in the 2nd coming; just hopefully
save a few unborn lives and keep hardworking folks from being taxed into an
early grave, etc. Give folks the freedom to Give their money in stead
of having it Stolen by the State.
The KofG is
Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit. That’s the only way
to enter in and live there. That should be Today. We enter into it by
living righteous lives (by His Grace). if i see what this means in the context
of JCs teaching, this is what i should do
How do you
personally do this? I’m sure your writing has something to do with
this. I agree with you totally—whatever the Lord gives you to do you must do
with your whole heart.

I think the treasure in the field and the pearl of great price are secret
treasures that no one in this world wants (so they overlook or reject it)
are the painful suffering, the trials and testings, that the Lord sends to
purify us of sin. A bitter gift at first, but sweeter than life itself
in the end. Jesus said, Count the cost before deciding to follow
Me. That, I think, is the cost. If we don’t slay Self, He will help us
do it. Abraham had to be willing to slay his own flesh; so must we.
I couldn’t sleep
last night; awoke worrying about some things. Then the thought came to
me that I shouldn’t worry at all, because Jesus is returning Very
Soon. It occurred to me that Israel was judged 60 years after the
crucifixion of Jesus—had 60 years in which to repent but didn’t. Then
it occurred to me that in 2008 Israel will be 60 years old, and then
Judgment will fall upon the whole world. If there is to be a 7 year
pre-trib rapture, that would be this year! (I’m not sure if there will
be such a thing, actually—but I’m hopeful.) What do you
think?

time dealing with the implications of my political

so, I'll tell you: the
kingdom of God is a unique spiritual state, Iz--as JC taught, it's present
in him, emerging unseen, unnoticed,
like
a 1000 year oak
tree from a tiny seed
it's like a small amount
of leaven placed in the dough of the world--pretty soon the dough will rise
to bakable (tasty:) proportions
however, the KoG is also
future--radically; it will come apocalyptically as
promised
though it is present in
the ministry, message, person, and works, partic in the miracles of JC, the
KoG is yet to come, when he returns
JCs followers live betw
these times--already saved from the fate of the world in the present
age yet to be saved from destruction like Noah in the age to
come
this means the KoG is
real acc to the NT, but rejected for its value, partic given its terms
of trade, in most of the world
followers of JC are not
devout common sense republicans, or 'idiot' democrats:) but those who
dwell in KoG now--by choice/committment; in fact, like in one of the stories
JC told, a guy like me, who, lookin' for a real new deal finds a
diamond in the rough, would be wise to sell off all his holdings/investments
to generate the cash to buy that 'rough' open field overlooked by the
'developers':)
if i see what this means
in the context of JCs teaching, this is what i should
do
the fact that i'd own
this field is very costly now, but very wise in biblical terms in the
long (ultimate) run
it's not the same as
buyin' stock in Israel <rof> or in Deseret Corp.

possession of a unique, conflicting spiritual reality that i buy into myself
at any cost, that few else inc even many of my family care
about....yet:)
the reason/s they don't
care are evident in the NT where many people JC encountered were preoccupied
with (e.g.) trivial politics of kingdoms based in systems of thought which
the KoG will consume, destroy as he and the Prophets foretell,
eg.:
'I will destroy this
temple (which was constructed of, e.g., 20 ton squares of granite over a 40
year period) and rebuild it 3 days', JC
communicates
Interestingly, this is the
main piece of 'evidence' supplied hatefully by his political accusers at his
'trial' in Jerusalem--the City of David
If that's what Jerusalem
(still) thinks, what makes you think Denver New York or Washington is gonna
do different? Which of GWBs advisors is gonna counsell him to sell
off everything it takes to buy a field no one wants, then lead his
party to victory acc to the NT? I suspect Condolleeza Rice would get
laughed right offa 'Face the Nation'...e.g., check out Prov
