David Miller,

It occurred to me that some time back you and I were discussing the issue of
whether or not God "sends" sickness. You said that He does not, and gave
the example that a loving father would not break his childs arm to teach him
a lesson. Then I sent you several scriptures that stated that God did,
indeed, send sickness and disease upon His children as a form of discipline.
As far as I can remember, you never replied to that. Would you mind letting
me know if you do not believe those scriptures, or what?

I am not alleging that all sickness and disease is sent by God, but
scripture seems to be clear that sometimes it is, indeed. I think that He
sends (actively, or "allows" satan to send) evil things upon His children
for a purpose sometimes. At times that will be to "punish", ie: teach them
a lesson for the ultimate purpose of refining or saving them. You can say
the same thing about all kinds of adversity and calamities. What do you
think?
