Since the only god (with whom we LDs have to do) - the father - Elohim is of the same genetic makeup as Satan in LDS theology
And Satan and his brother Jesus - the son - Jehovah is of the same genetic makeup in LDS theology

It logically folows that Satan & Elohim are on a level playing field.
The only difference being the amount of progression
of course we do not know how far along in his progression Elohim is, just now.
This must be why Satan gives Elohim such fits
Besides he gets equal votes in the council of the gods!

I do not believe that anybody can murder a man of God unless the Lord
allows it. Have you not read Job?

Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about
all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands,
and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth thine hand
now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. And
the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only
upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the
presence of the LORD. (Job 1:9-12 KJV)

And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a
man hath will he give for his life. But put forth thine hand now, and
touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face. And
the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his
life. So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job
with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown. (Job 2:4-7
KJV)

How can you possibly say that when a man murders a prophet, that this
takes it out of the Lord's hand? Do other Mormons think this way too?

Read what David said about those who have made the Lord their refuge:

Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High,
thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any
plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over
thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their
hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon
the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample
under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I
deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He
shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in
trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I
satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. (Psalms 91:9-16 KJV)

Jesus reiterates the care and concern of the Father for us:

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the
soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in
hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall
not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your
head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than
many sparrows. (Matthew 10:28-31 KJV)

The author of Hebrews even speaks of those martyrs as laying down their
life of their own accord, just as Jesus laid his down and no man took it
from him:

Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were
tortured, NOT ACCEPTING DELIVERANCE; that they might obtain a better
resurrection. (Hebrews 11:35 KJV)

Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I
might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of
myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.
This commandment have I received of my Father. (John 10:17-18 KJV)

Peace be with you.
