Blaine: Mr. Tittle offers a perfectly good reason for covering up the tatoos and etc. He says, "it's easier to doctor photos than deal with irate callers demanding to know why athletes are being immodest or wearing tattoos that many Latter-day Saints deem offensive or a violation of church standards."

Blaine,

I am appalled that you would support such an action. This is very Orwellian. And you think this practice is acceptable?

Don't you think that if the "church owned school" officials are willing to alter photos of athletes to avoid irate callers, the church is also willing to alter or hide negative church records to avoid irate members? (In fact, we know they do this.) Doesn't that make you wonder what the church may be hiding or altering that might concern it's own members, and that might invalidate the church or cast doubt on it's authenticity?

It is called historical revisionism and censoring. Very Orwellian, indeed. If, as the article says, they "violate the LDS Church-owned school's dress-and-grooming standards", then why did the school recruit this athlete in the first place? Sounds like a double standard...they want a winning team, but want to hide the truth about the players.
