John writes > Sorry judyt for cutting in BUT
is Bill saying that after the Nicene Fathers, there is no possibility for
similar but "original" thinking on the same subject?
No, I am not saying that.
Read again, deliberately this time, the whole Trinitarian
conversation from the time I got involved in it and maybe what I did say
will begin to register.
Every time I use the word"person" the Nicene
Fathers get the credit? ! I think it is
possible that they and she arrived at the same conclusion because they have the
same God or the same experience with God.
The same conclusion, maybe; the
same experience, perhaps; the same God, I hope so; but if Judy's epiphany
includes the same word, then I'm with Kevin, I want to see the plates.

Just a thought. That is not to say that
their (the Nicene fathers) knowledge and use of the word did not have a trickle
down effect. That is possible. But that possibility does not
negate what I just said, however.
Yes it does, John, until Judy
invents, coins, creates, fabricates, articulates, a new word to express the
same intentionality. Because when she uses the word "person" to speak about
Jesus Christ and the Trinitarian participants, she is using the word
that she inherited from the Nicene fathers. They are the ones who created
it, who coined it, who invented it, who fabricated it, who took something which
had no locution and mouthed an utterance to express it. Moreover, I don't
give a hoot if you or she gives them credit for it or not. That's not the point.
Just don't be so silly as to criticize others for using the Trinity word while
uttering words yourselves like "person" and "personhood" and
"personality" to speak of the very same Divine participation.
Bill
