It is not necessary that so many people should read
the philosophers for their ideas to prevail. Deadly viruses produced in the
"high country of the mind" can get into the streams, run down and be picked up
by the plants below; the sociologists and the psychologists, the imaginative
writers, novelists and poets, who grow them into edible form on which thousands

Sorry judyt for cutting in BUT is Bill saying that after the Nicene Fathers, there is no possibility for similar but "original" thinking on the same subject? Everytime I use the word"person" the Nicene Fathers get the credit? ! I think it is possible that they and she arrived at the same conclusion because they have the same God or the same experience with God. Just a thought. That is not to say that their (the Nicene fathers) knowledge and use of the word did not have a trickle down effect. That is possible. But that possibility does not negate what I just said, however.
