Actually, John Calvin voted for the death of one of the period's heretics.  So, I am not a fan of John C just on that basis.  This statement concerns :

It is my understanding that you are on this list for the purpose of joining biblical discussion.   Your statement immediately above is not in tune with that purpose.
Works of the law (that IS obedience whether you find it hard to admit or not) defines holiness.   Works of benevolence defines faith.   That is how I view the biblical message and solve the theological problem between Paul and Jame's wording.   Of course, nothing is that simple, but that is the basic explanation.  

Did you have a serious question or were you just frustrated that I had once again said something you did not agree with?
