Can't be. Within the context of the passage, James 2.10 does not prove the point that one sin is the same as any other. Usually Christians use this verse to prove that it's impossible under the Mosaic Law for anyone to be in a right relationship with God. Rather, the verse agrees with the normal Jewish understanding that if one withholds one's willingness to submit to the authority of any part of Torah, one has abrogated the authority of the whole Torah.
