JUDY SAID: The word hate here means (love them less
than) for if we put them ahead of God we are making idols out of them and
unbelieving family members can certainly exert a lot of pressure at
times.

SAYS: I agree with your perspective. The greatest commandment is to love
God with all our heart, soul, and strength. The second is LIKE the first: Love
your neighbor as yourself. If we love our neighbor the way we're supposed to,
how much more are we to love God? The difference should be night and day...
indifference (hate) and love... zero and
infinity.
