Actually, Terry, you live down in Florida also, correct?

Are you ready for the big blow?

Yep on both counts. Hurricanes just seem to follow us. We have been in one in Miami, another in Homestead, one on Key Largo, one in Pensacola, and one here in Grand Ridge. The storm that was headed our way this morning fizzled out before making land fall and just short of becoming a hurricane. Now we watch the next one, but it does not seem to be headed for the Panhandle.

I used to hate them when I was lobster fishing because they scattered my traps all over the ocean, I lost work time during the bad weather, and I had to tie my boat up in the mangrove creeks and hope it would still be there when the storm was over. For the last fifteen years, being seventy miles inland, all I have to do is cut up the trees that fall across the fence or the road and pick up the limbs that blow down. Things may be different now with the rabbits. Time will tell.

It is hard to pray about a storm, at least for me. If I ask the Lord to have it miss me, am I also asking Him to let it hit someone else? If His plan is for it to hit a certain spot, who am I to tell Him to change course? What difference could it make for eternity? I know that I can go to Him with any concern, but sometimes it simply seems best to pray as our Lord taught us, "Your will be done".

The worst thing to happen so far is to have spent the best part of the day yesterday working on the generator. My own fault for not running it periodically. Now that it is operating, maybe I can remember to do that.

We did have six inches of rain, enough to get the snakes crawling, but not any wind to speak of.

Thanks for thinking of us.
Terry
