We weren’t in Tampa as we were evacuated out on Thursday because we’re approximately 1.2 miles from the shore (with about half a million other people) to…of all places…..ORLANDO! Storm was pretty awesome, no damage to our home or the hotel where we were staying. Got some pictures on the digital camera. They lifted the evacuation ban about 2 this morning for our neighborhood. Orlando is in a state of disaster and they’re working all over the place. Took us about 4 hours to get home. I-4 is a parking lot, but we took alternate routes. We had a good family adventure and the kids got to see their first hurricane. This was Slade’s second and his first was much worse….summer of 1995 in West Palm Beach. I’ve been through many as I used to live in Key West. Report in ASAP!!!  Izzy   We are basking in the sunshine.  Maximum winds were ten miles an hour, no rain.  Just another day.  If Slade was in the Tampa area, he is probably short on electricity about now.  I believe the main part of the storm crossed the state well south of David.  They probably got some rain from the outer bands.
