Of course they thought they were following God. Paul also thought he was following God when he held the coats of murderers.   They were NOT following God because they were haters of men created in the image of God.   "Those" Jews (the ones who were murderers or wanted to be murderers in the case of those opposing Paul) would have been better off with a Holy Spirit mindset which is true, but this is also a cop out on your part, Judy. Great diversion, though. Still, you have no hope of understanding Scripture unless you understand it in the mindset and culture of the authorship. Remember what Hoshea says... My people are destroyed by their lack of knowledge.
