Subject: RE: [TruthTalk]
The Schizophrenic God The idea of making the Bible relevant to
today is actually quite important. The original meaning can become useless
unless it's brought forward. Parts of the Bible that speak of the relationship
between slave and master are meaningless and could be cut out of Scripture
unless the intent can be modified to enhance employee-employer relationships.
Follow Torah in this manner (as I do) and you will experience blessing in your
business endeavors... just as is promised in Scripture. This is liberal thinking. This is the
thinking of the Pharisees. This was the thinking of Yeshua. I am, however,
still a moral conservative, but I am a liberal in the interpretation of
Scripture... just like my Messiah. n
slade Depends upon your definition of “liberal”
obviously. The Holy Spirit always makes the Bible relevant for
today. (A task for which we do not need theologians; but try convincing
them.) BTW, the similarity between slave/master and employee/employer is
all too apparent for anyone who has ever worked for someone else. And, yes, the
blessings of obeying the Word are faithful in any generation. Izzy |
