David:I'm assuming, not wrongly I hope, that you are more conversant with circumstances and history in the Middle East than this caricature would suggest. I'm going to assume that given the time you could outline events and participants (including American involvement) that would be more comprehensive and nuanced. If, sadly, this is not the case then, I'll ask my friend Jonathan to supply you with a briefing.
