Hey Lance.

I am not sure which particular instance you are talking about, but many squabbles were because:

A)  They were babes in Christ.  Age has nothing to do with being a babe in Christ.  If a person has been born again for 20 years, they can still be a babe in Christ.  Squabbles occur because they are still carnally minded.

1Cr 3:3For ye are yet carnal: for whereas [there is] among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

B)  Walking in the flesh and not the spirit.

Gal 5:19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Gal 5:20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
