Judas
Iscariot's name sound very much like Judas haSicarii, which (if true) would
indicate that Judas was a zealot of the worst kind. Under this assumption, Judas
would have been (before his acceptance into Yeshua's traveling school) a
terrorist who went through the crowds, slipping daggers into the sides of Romans
and Roman sympathizers.
If
true, Judas would have been a nationalist (like Izzy... only more rabid). He,
like the others, understood Yeshua was the Messiah, but he was one (of many) who
saw no logic in having a Messiah ben Yosef (a suffering Messiah) when the Jewish
people needed a Conquering Messiah (Messiah ben David) to end the suffering of
the Jewish People. In hopes of forcing Yeshua's hand, he arranged for the
leaders of the Sadducees to arrest Yeshua. However, this plan failed, and Judas,
in grief, hung himself. Why? Because he truly loved Yeshua and knew He was
Messiah.
Judas loved his people Israel and wanted them to be
relieved of Rome's oppressive domination, therefore Judas 'had to force'
Yeshua's Kingly Messiah role. Judas wanted Scripture (Truth) to remain
whole, for the promises of God said that David would always be on the throne of
Israel (II Shemuel 7)... and how does one explain Rome? Simply, force Messiah to
take His kingly/Conquering role, and the
Son of David would (and forever) rule
Jerusalem.

I think you are onto something, there, Mr. Henson, in your reference to rebellion.
When you have time, explain your comment aobut Judas, above.
