It is possible to usurp authority over others for a number of antiChristian reasons. Creedal Protectionism is certainly one. Sectarian (read: "denominational") Protectionism is an another. Theology that is held on a personal basis is yet another reason for doing your opponent. Meanness, weirdness and ignorance can be reasons for divisive activity, as well.
