The above is not true John because if it were then salvation would have to happen apart from the Holy Spirit because it is written:

God gives the Holy Spirit to those who obey Him (Jesus) Acts 5:32

And being made perfect He (Jesus) became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him. Hebrews 5:9

Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey his servants ye are to whom ye obey,

whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness Romans 6:16.   and you continue .........

 

That’s why Jesus said:     
   Matt 13:12"(H)For whoever has, to him more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him.
