Looks like the men of Nineveh pleased God by Believing
This belief produced outward fruit when they proclaimed a fast Jonah 3:5 &repenting in sackloth &ashes Jonah 3:6
Perry:
Two things ---------- your post proves beyond doubt that someone on this forum can disagree thoroughly with another without the very typially trash talk (aaaaahhhh "TT"?) that accompanies so much of our exchange. Noted and appreciated, Charles Perry.
Now, back to the battle -- you said : Looks like the men of Nineveh pleased God by Believing This belief produced outward fruit when they proclaimed a fast Jonah 3:5&repenting in sackloth & ashes Jonah 3:6
Who would deny the text. But my point or question is this: if they did not, then , convert to the one true religion, what was the point of their repentance? They put on sackcloth. They fasted - appparently for a little longer than any of my several diets -- and then what? Going, going, GONE TO HELL ?????
I do not preach a compromised gospel when I get to preach. It is straight up and concerned with the practical issues of living the Life. So I am not trying to "get out of anything." But does this not show that God not only cares for those outside the fold, so to speak, but makes provision for them (i.e. Jonah and his demand for repentance?) --- a people who were in no way related to the Children of God?
John
