JD, you just can’t get past the
point where Paul transitioned from Romans 7 to Romans 8. He was a sinner in
need of saving in Chapter 7. Then he got saved and filled, and he was a
changed man in Chapter 8. You keep insisting he never made it across the
gap. It doesn’t make anyone one whit holier to drag down the
righteous to the level of one’s peer group. I have no fear of ever
being abused by Paul or any other godly person. I just like to hang with
folks who can encourage me to take the next step up (not down). Call that
coarseness or attitude or any other nasty name you want. I at least can
tell the difference between a pearl and a pig, and I don’t get them mixed
up. To hang out with pearls you have to climb out of the mud. You can’t
say, “Hey, Paul, etc, are in here with me, so it’s perfectly fine!”
That’s an insult to Paul, and an insult to Jesus who makes us new
creatures in Christ. Izzy From:

Time, I cannot even finish
reading this post, JD. It’s such a perfect example of
liberalism—nothing but bad news due to only seeing evil where there is
good and visa-versa. Disgusting. It is God through Paul (we
believe) who leveled the claim that we all "are falling short of his
glory." It is God (we believe) who included the good, bad and
ugly in the accounting of nearly every biblical character. Sin is
disgusting. It is disgusting in my life when manifested in
event sin -- and it is disgusting as expressed in the
intolerance, harshness and exclusiveness of several on TT. What is
most disgusting to me, however, is the fantasy that righteousness is something
we are gifted to accomplish, denying the "living sacrifice"
(i..e. "continual flow of the blood of the Lamb") that is the central
issue as Christ accomplishes His ministry of
reconciliation. You read me poorly, once again, if you think
my emphasis is negative when it comes to living The Life
-- I assure, it is not. The gospel properly
understood (IMO) is all about God and not about me - in terms of
what is brought to the light of a mature and spiritual walk. Well-adjusted people are
sick and tired of this beating of old dead negative horses. I am
beginning to wonder if you really know any "well-adjusted
people." If one receives a prophet’s reward for
receiving a prophet, what kind of reward does one expect to receive from
slandering men of God? So be careful what you say to
me -- is that a part of the lesson here? I wouldn’t dare to speak against them. In this
comment, there is reason for real sadness. Those who entertain such
"reverence" for specific others are, often, given to being
abused by those same individuals. This is a discussion
group -- challenging these "men of God" is a part of what
we do here. There was a time when I lobbied for a unity of spirit on this
site. That was rejected so many times and in so many personal
ways, that I have decided to surrender that cause. It was
rejected, first by others, and is now rejected by me. We are not
all on the same page, here on TT. When David writes down on
me, when Kevin tries his version of sarcasm, they know to expect a
response. I will tell you one opponent on this list that actually
disagrees with me, probably as thoroughly as anyone but WITHOUT THE PUT-DOWN
ATTITUDE OF DAVID OR THE COARSENESS OF DEEGAN is Charles
Perry. He can blast away but without the offense I see in the
other two. And I do not include him in the above
considerations. But then, Iook up at them; not down.
