The point IS: you
seem to think that Unity is more important than Truth. (I hope not, but
that’s how it’s looking.) Seeking Unity is the path to compromise
and humanism. Seeking Truth will (incidentally) bring us into unity with
other true Believers. (The God-kind of unity.) Izzy You sound like Pontius Pilate. Jesus tells us we can
know the truth—He IS the Truth. If we know Him (really), we know
all the Truth that matters. I agree that seeking doctrinal agreement is
not the path—it is one of the consequences
of being on the path to life. (As I Cor 8:1-3 states) To assume that you
and your cohorts are the only ones seeking ever-deeper relationship with Jesus
(and truth) seems to lack humility. (Did I phrase that gently enough?) Izzy Jn 8:31So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed
Him, "If you continue in My word,
then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32and you will
know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
