The Holy Spirit never drives, He leads; it's the
other spirit who drives - the one who works in the "children of
disobedience".
If the Holy Spirit was able to give the apostles the
words they should speak when they were brought before
rulers and kings and bring what was taught them back to their remembrance - then
He was well able to orchestrate preserving God's Word
through willing vessels. I'm not willing to compromise, either it is ALL
given by inspiration of God or it is
not.
You can choose this day who you are going to
believe. I am believing the report of the Lord. judyt

However, when he taught that, the scriptures were the old testament. The new one had not been completed. My assumption is that both were inspired by God. My definition of inspired means that the Holy Spirit drove them to write their message. I do not think that the Lord dictated every word any more than He would have told Noah where to put every nail while building the ark.

A good point and a great illustration.
