Judy:
I am curious about how you reconcile your interpretation of Isaiah 45 about the 'treasures of darkness" etc. with "God is the Father of Lights in whom there is no variableness or shadow of turning" (James 1:17).
Caroline:
1) Darkness in Isaiah 45 is not a metaphor for evil as it is in other places in the bible. The syllogism of v. 3 provides the definition: treasures of darkness = riches stored in secret places.
2) The Creator and the created/creature are not the same. To think so will be to slide into pantheism.
Hope you have a good weekend.
Love,
Caroline
Caroline, I hope that you are not another 26 year old friend of Lance's. The extremely insightful Jonathan is about all I can stand -- at age 60. I just spent nearly two weeks with a guy who is 18 years younger than me. After listening to his insights, I volunteered to have my teeth extracted ---------- all save one. That way, me and Deegan can be buds. Hope you stay around for a while. Stay on tract is my advice. Don't dip and chew. You have much to offer other serious students (that would be me, folks). Yes, I am still learning.
