Death and destruction are "evil" no
matter what words you use to try and make them say something different.
Satan is the one who comes to steal, kill, and destroy and his works are
always evil. Jesus came to give life and that more abundantly.
Jesus blesses, Satan implements the curse.

Except that now whenever you read about God
and evil in your bible, you'll also remember these other words:
destruction, calamity, trouble

This is a good example of the
confusion the newer versions of the Bible cause. If God is not in
control then IYO is Satan more powerful than He is in some of these
areas?

When David counted his fighting men (which was a
bad thing) , 2 Samuel 24 said God made him do it but 1 Chron. 21 said Satan
made him do it. How you reconcile these two accounts IS the answer to your
question above.
