So why did he kill himself?   Pissed about not getting enough money?    His suicide was the most profound _expression_ of repentance he could come up with  as is the case with many who commit this action.   For Judas, it was over and he was a big player in The Defeat.  The ultimate sacrifice was the only _expression_ of repentance for him.  So he did it.
