1. Suicide, in my opinion, can only be demonic. You have been taken over by a greater power and it has convinced you, in absolutely non-rational categories -- that death is safer than whatever it is that is troubling you.
 
2. The thought of throwing yourself on a bomb for the soul sake of saving others is the other end of this spectrum. It too is "irrational" (and please don't get too carried away with that) in that it can only be explained in terms of some kind of transcendent quality -- a greater good, in other words. It is "heroic" precisely because it makes no sense apart from this higher quality.
 
Neither of these, it seems to me, takes away from what I said about death being our greatest fear.

 Nothing much to think about.  I guess suicide could be demonic or it could be Self.  I thought I presented logical evidence that there are things worse than death.  You disagree.  Neither of us is surprised.
