A quick poll for TT:

Who here believes in limited atonement or universal atonement? In other

words, did Jesus die for the sins of the saved or the sins of all men?

Jesus died for everyone.  Not everyone chooses to accept His sacrifice, however, and follow Him.  So not everyone benefits from it.  “Few” do, in fact. (I just threw that in for JD.)

Who here believes in predestination, double predestination or universal

access? In other words, are some people predestined by God to be saved, some

to be damned or is it God's will that all be saved and it is our will that

decides the final outcome?  God desires that no one be lost, which He why He came in the form of a man to make a way out. He knows the end from the beginning however, and some people call that “predestination”. He has “chosen” those who He knows have a heart to receive and follow Him. “Many are called, but few are chosen.” He calls everyone. Few respond.

Can one's salvation be lost? Why or Why not? I do not believe that a walk down the aisle to the altar guarantees that one “will endure to the end.”  One always has the choice of falling away, as God never removes our free will.  However, if we choose to stay faithful to Him, He will never leave us or forsake us, and satan cannot take us out of His hand.  It isn’t easy, however, to stay faithful to the end (lots of trials and tests will come our way!)  But it’s easier than the alternative, in the end at least.
