Izzy can define them if and when she wants - but in the meantime I've got a list (something else to argue about)
since lists are so important to you and JD .....
1. Recognize a problem
2. Take personal responsibility for it
3. Repent of it
4. Renounce it
5. Remove it
6. Resist it (because it will try to return)
7. Rejoice in being free

Judy that is how some would approach such a list but there are those that would approach it thus:

1. Recognize the list

2. Deny personal responsibility for it
3. Reject it
4. Renounce it
5. Remove it
6. Resist it (because it will try to return)
7. Redefine it
8. Rejoice in being free

Think what you want, Izzy, but what are you doing talking about "essentials" and "non-essentials," if in reality you can't define them?  "A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing personal opinion." Proverbs 18:2 - Bill

JD, only the legalists among you want a list.  The non-legalist Conservatives realize that if you have the Holy Spirit in your heart you dont need a list.  And if we gave you a list it would only give you something else to argue about.  Izzy

If you really have done #1, then #2 will become clear to you. J Izzy

Bill   -----------   the right-wingers will never give you a list.  But  maybe I didn't say "please."   so paaalleeese keep trying.

2 Tim 2: 16But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness,

17and their talk will spread like gangrene.

19Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness."

20Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor.

21Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

22Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

23But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce quarrels.

24The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged,

25with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,

26and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.
