What in the Bible tells us that he accepted Jesus on the cross? Mat. 27:44 does indicate that both thieves insulted Jesus, but maybe he was a "backslidder" having doubts? Is it possible that the thief on the cross represents hope for the backslider rather than a death bed conversion? I don't know the answers here. I'm just posing some questions based upon my reading of the Bible. Is there anything in the Bible that gives you your understanding of the thief on the cross, or is it our culture or maybe even revelation that gives you your perspective? Peace be with you.
