LOL. Studying is fun, isn't it! Nice piece, John. I don't think I disagreed with much of anything in it. I just think it argued more for the Divinity of Christ rather than the idea of eternal sonship. Both you and Bill seem to hammer two ideas in discussing this topic: 1) Jesus is the eternal God 2) Jesus has a relationship in the Godhead best understood by us as a Father / Son relationship. I do not disagree with either of these concepts. Rather, I affirm them both as being true. My primary concern with this subject has to do with how we interpret Scripture. What does the Scripture mean when it says, "this day I have begotten you." The Holy Ghost has a specific message here. In the earlier discussion, I was not too sure about it, but as the discussion progressed, I think Judy made her case very well. Adam Clark also makes some good points about it. The Biblical passage is referring to his incarnation when he became son of man, son of David, son of God. Peace be with you.
