Yes, I understand the difference between "inspiration"
and "revelation" however I don't believe this was the
problem with Solomon. The law was not lost in his
generation and he had access to the direction given for
kings in Deuteronomy 17:14-20. I don't know if he
had his own personal copy as instructed but we can see
by his life that he did everything opposite to what was
instructed - Solomon multiplied horses, silver and gold,
and women. He did it all and I don't believe that
with all that wisdom he didn't know what he was doing. He
was an early disciple of Frank
Sinatra. jt

No, not at all. You do not see a differecne between "inpsiration" and (a) "revealtion?"There were, of course, some things the ancients did not undersand when it was written. I do not think that whoever wrote Gen 15 understaood that the seed of Abraham was Jesus Christ -- God on eath.

JD are you saying that Solomon didn't understand what he was writing? He apparently understood when he asked God for wisdom rather than riches and God was pleased with his choice. To me it seems he was tripped by the same lust that got hold of his father; David repented but Solomon didn't knowwhen to quit and kept on with it. jtOn Sun, 03 Jul 2005 15:58:29 -0400 [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:So what, may I ask? !! Yes, the choices he made for his own life were stupid. He lost the kingdom and his children sufferedfor them, but his writings were inspired by the same Spirit who inspired the rest of scripture. judytOn Sun, 3 Jul 2005 08:51:32 -0400 "Marlin halverson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes:PMFBILet us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man. However, I am curious as to your explanation. Do you really believe the Lord does not expect you to keep the commandments?
Terry Clifton wrote:Dave wrote:DAVEH: What part of the Law God gave Moses do you think was unkeepable, Terry?Since Paul says that if you break one law you have broken the whole law, I would say the whole law was unkeepable. If I were a Jew living under the law, I would have broken most of them. If I were under that law today I would have broken most of them. Thank God, I am not under the law.
