Angels are not the same "form" as men

Jesus was in the "form" of God and became a diff "form" made in the likeness of men:

Phil 2:7 took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men

Hebrews 2:7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels

Angels were created as Angels (not created as men who progressed to become angels)
Psalm 148:2,5 "Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hostsÂ…Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created."

ALL things including Angels were created by Jesus Christ
Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him

Contrast to LDS theology:
"What are angels?" LDS Seventy B. H. Roberts asks, "They are intelligences of the human species. Many of them are offsprings of Adam and Eve. That is they are men, who have, like Enoch or Elijah, been translated; or, like Jesus Christ, been raised from the dead; consequently they possess a material body of flesh and bones, can eat, drink, walk, converse, reason, love, fight, wrestle, sing, or play on musical instruments" (The Mormon Doctrine of Deity, pg. 256).

LDS Apostle Parley P. Pratt wrote, "Angels are of the same race as men. They are, in fact, men who have passed from the rudimental state to the higher spheres of progressive beingÂ…They have not a single attribute that man has not. But their attributes are more matured, or more developed, than the attributes of men in this present sphere of existence" (Key to the Science of Theology, 1978 Deseret Book reprint, pg. 69). On page 21 of the same book, Pratt included God in the equation. He wrote, "God, angels, and men are all of one species, one race, one great family, widely diffused among the planetary systems as colonies, kingdoms, nations, etc."

DAVEH:   Again DavidM, thanx for taking the time to respond.   Does not the creation of angels or sons of God constitute an act prior to the creation of Adam that could indicate a pre-mortal existence of spirits?  Is there a reason you would believe the angels are that much different from mortals?

Why do you not believe it possible for us (mortals)
to have existed in the pre-mortal existence?

Because the book of Genesis outlines very clearly how God created the first
man, from the dust of the ground, and then breathed into him the breath of
life. From him, he created woman, and man and woman came together to bring
forth offspring of their own. I read nothing about any act prior to the
creation of Adam that would have created men and women as spirits prior to
their birth in the flesh.

In addition, when Jesus was born into this world, there is testimony of his
prior existence. However, concerning his birth, he is spoken of as being
unique. This is that word "monogenes" that we have brought up before.
Therefore, Jesus is uniquely the Son of God in that he was born in a way
that no other man was. His pre-existence, therefore, ought not be
understood as applying to other people. He is unique in this regard, in
that he was God himself, the Logos.

There are some other reasons that are important as well, but I do not have
the time right now to go into them.

Peace be with you.
David Miller.
