Bible
And what is the response of many a believer to the reading of Bill's
defense? Well, the first response is not one of continued
debate -- at least not for me. It is to close
one's eyes for a moment and say, "Thank you Jesus." If any of you
think you have struck a cord by accusing us of a form of what can only be
called Christus
idolatrus --- atrributing to Christ the works
of man -- well, go ahead!!!!!! Burn me at the steak or
worse. Christ is our all in all. He is the savior - fully
and completely -------- all forms of works-salvationism
aside.
To imagine that any on this site would ever say "He can't take care of
our part" is truly beyond me. "OUR PART" HAS BEEN THE PROBLEM FROM
THE BEGINNING OF TIME. That has been the fly in the ointment since
the Garden. And to pretend that God would continue this
failure, that His whole plan of salvation rests on any single human
effort is an amazing denial of the gospel message.
And I will not take time to correct the next rebuttal
-- "here goes John with that universalims thing again." No, I am
going to leave misconception to the resident pragmatists of
TT.
thank you JESUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jt: Why the woe? ...
I would say Bill that you mischaracterize my position every bit
as much as you claim that I mischaracterize yours although you
will need to show me how I do this.
Did you not write
these words: "Jesus did His part ... but we have our part in this
also, He can't take care of our part"? How is my
statement of dissagreement with you that "it is certainly not
because we must do what Christ cannot," a mischaracterzation
of your position? Perhaps, Judy, you do not stop to consider how
your words might sound.
Obedience is the natural fruit of our
relationship with our Father. When we come to really know him, we come
to see that he loves us more than we love ourselves, and that he wants
only what's best for us, and that he longs for our fulfillment with a
greater passion than our own." Hence in participation with our Lord,
we begin to see that obedience is not only right and loving, it is the
only thing that makes good sense. Bill
