Salvation has its conditions.    They were fulfilled in Jesus Christ.   The question, then, is neither about God's love or His plan of salvation  --  rather our questions should center themselves in and around the Living Christ and our ontology in(eis) Him.   At least, that is what is important to me, personally and to me as a counselor.

We are not questioning whether God's love is unconditional.  The question is, "Is salvation unconditional?

Personal effort is always and only out of response to God's saving activity.   It is "required" in the same way breathing is required to continue physical life.  All references of joint participation are to be viewed in this context.   That is the gospel message as I understand it.   To argue that my effort is actually required to secure my salvation is repulsive to me  --------   not to mention scary.
