If you are saying that a person exhibits pride when he equates his personal
interpretations and speculations with something that cannot possibly be
wrong, then I understand your point. However, if you are saying that this
is the only kind of understanding that exists, then you are dreadfully
mistaken.

Jesus promised us the following:
John 16:13-14
(13) Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into
all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear,
that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
(14) He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it
unto you.

If your theology denies the operation of the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to
us, real truth, truth which cannot be wrong, and if you deny the operation
of faith in the life of the believer whereby he can be confident and sure of
what is true, then you are wrong. This is what I would call a godless
theology as per 2 Timothy 3:7 ("ever learning, and never able to come to the
knowledge of the truth").

Peace be with you.
David Miller.
