Subject: [TruthTalk] God is a relational God: Father, Son, Spirit
From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
"your Bible" has much more to do with DM's understanding of the Bible than
anything else. There is nothing that happens to us, intellectually, that renders
the affirmation of I Cor 8:1ff untrue.
I can't agree JD because these doctrines of demons are stronger than any
meat bought from a Corinthian market. They will blind ones eyes to truth and
they rise up and kick ppl who hear anything opposing them causing them to
reject further light.
When Paul writes "If anyone thinks he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know but if anyone loves God, he is known by Him" (I Co. 8:2-3)., he is presenting a principle having to do with our relationship with God (in Christ). Verses 2 and 3 are NOT talking about the meats issue AT ALL. You twist the scriptures to make them work in your theology -- refusing to acknowledge the obvious.
What God does in terms of providential revelation is for the purpose of personal
growth. The process of maturing in Christ demands our involvement as well as
God's. We are in the fellowship of the Spirit, joint participants.
Yes, so long as it is the same Spirit. "If we walk in the light as He is in the light
we have fellowship one with another" However light and darkness do not mix
and there can be no fellowship there.
Of course it will be the same Spirit !!! God does not give stones to those who of Him bread.
If God's revealing is an overt and absolute principle of fact -- our minds are
overcome with this revelation.
Not necessarily - our minds may be overcome by the cares of this world in which
case God's Word/revelation will not bear fruit.
Not in this situation. You miss my point.
We are not a part of the process except to hear and obey.
You left out a step. It's hear, understand, and obey.
No I didn't. You are the one who argues that interpretation has nothing to do with the matter.....and so we hear and obey. As soon as you stick "understand" in there -- which is correct, by the way -- the outcome is personalized.
When you disagree with David, one of you is wrong (at least). At least in
terms of "universal truth." On a personal level, however, you both could be
"right" in the sense that God is using the understanding each of you have
and building character. It is not that there is more than one truth rather, it
is that God is able to work all things, even our goofy understandings, together
for good.
I can agree that God works everything together for good to those who are
called; however, I don't see how one with "goofy" understanding can obey
God or be an oracle for him in this world.
It happens in your life and mine daily.
**Self-taught huh! Stated by one who by his own testimony is ignorant of
and does not KNOW the Teacher.
Someone tell me why this is not a lie.
One who studies to show themselves approved unto God and who endeavors
to walk after the Spirit daily can recognize the same procedure working in
another even at a different level, there is a spiritual recognigion.
You said "by his own testimony [he, Lance] is arrogant and does not KNOW the Teacher."
Your explanation above in way whatsoever defends this statement immediately above and underlined. Why? Because you know it is indefensible.
Is any going to argue with a show of proof that Lance has given personal
testimony that he is ignorant and does not know the Teacher. A fully ignorant
comment.
From what I have read Lance's personal testimony usually exalts some
theologian or teacher or movie or book [.....]
To imagine that you see a threat in the teaching that Christ is the Eternal Son
of God and has accomplished the reconciliation of all things in the body of His
death is incredible.
I don't see any threat in what you have written above so don't be incredulous
JD. The threat I see is in the negation of the New Birth along with the idea
that the whole world has been taken up in Christ with the false assurance that
there is no need to overcome daily and die to carnality and flesh in our own
lives because Jesus won the victory and He did it all for us.
Why do you consistently misrepresent the theology? Some on this forum practice righteousness in order to place God in debt for eternal salvation and others of us practice holiness because of the relationship we have with the Christ and with each other (I might add).
No one thinks carnality is God's choice.
You have made a mountain out of mole hill - something you have become
very adept at doing.
Everyone to their own perception JD - I will respect this as being yours.
