So, don't go to Lance.   Try Judy of this one.   What say ye, Judy T?  Does "uniform apprehension"  (I assume this is something similar to "uniform comprehension") turn God into a Nazi?   Apparently there is dissension within the camp................................proving, of course, that God is not a Nazi.  Amen to your comment, by the way.

Satan is constantly at work stirring up strife and dissent among Believers.  One way of doing that is by insisting upon "uniform apprehension" (according to whom???)  The Holy Spirit is not a Nazi who insists upon lockstep theology.  I have better things to do than to go there Lance. iz

Indeed Judy, He does honour His Word (the text of Scripture is meant here)! He even, IMO, honours, on occasion, both SOME misinterpretations and SOME misrepresentations of His Word.

I do believe that much of the fractious nature of TT, with me at the top of the 'fractious list', comes from attempting to accomplish that which simply cannot be done. HE, JESUS, MAY be uniformly apprehended, whereas our understanding and apprehending of THE TEXT may not. (I challenge anyone on TT to produce texts which demonstrate otherwise. Proviso: TEXTS WHICH ARE THEMSELVES RIGHTLY INTERPRETED.)

David is not God Lance and neither are you or JD.
His written word containing His Promises is what we have been given along with understanding that comes
from Him by way of His Spirit.  So.... what Izzy says stands. He honors His Word.   jt

As to the first two (spoken & Incarnate), no. As to the written, yes. I thought David was reasonably clear on this matter. It is, in reality, a matter of some import.

Can you separate God and His spoken Word? And His incarnate Word? Or His written Word? His Words are part of Him. iz

First,   the Bible contains the Word of God .   Secondly,  Jesus and the Bible are two very different things.   Let's  not make an idol of the Book.   It is what it is  --  but it is not something to be worshipped, Christ is.

I believe the written Word as scripture is just one form of THE WORD of God.
It cannot be brushed aside as less than that IMO. izzy

Jesus is the Word but Jesus is not the TEXT.  Scripture is a subset of the
Word.  The script can be considered secondary to the Logos himself because
the world is not big enough to contain all the texts that could be written
about Him.  None of this is meant to undermine the authority of Scripture.

Peace be with you.
David Miller.
