DAVEH:   That's the problem with using simple examples when trying to convey a thought.....sometimes the little words like apparently  tend to be overlooked by those trying to find fault with the storyteller.  The bottom line is that I try not to judge others, but IF I were to judge from what limited knowledge I have, I would tend to see the obvious sacrifice some folks like MT make in an effort to follow the Lord's admonishment of taking care of the poor among us.  Personally, I'd rather not criticize her for that, as someday I will stand before the Lord and be judged as I may have judged others.  I'd much rather think good of her and be wrong, than assume the worst of her and be right.

And yes, you are right Perry.....bad folks can do good....even Mormons, if you want to cast us in that light.  I suppose that was the message the Lord was trying to convey when he told the story about the good Samaritan.

DaveH, I find it interesting that you judge Mother Teresa to be a Christian without ever mentioning her having a relationship with Christ. Atheists can do good works, even works on the order of MT's. Why, even mormons can do that!

To give you a serious answer, let me offer the example of what I perceive to be true of Mother Theresa.  Neither you or I believe that the RCC folks espouse true theology, yet apparently MT was a true Christian due to her love of those who were disadvantaged.  Is there any truer Christian than one who gives her (or his) life to others?  I don't think so.
