Sure, yes, of course I knew Dave was using it as a gest, John. But not all tongue-in-cheek humor is appreciated. While you may get a chuckle out of it, I do not particularly like being equated to a drug user, even as a gest.

How about if I asked you, in gest of course, "Hey, John, do you still beat your wife?". Now, that is a joke, right? Or is it? I don't know, but I do know that you MAY not like it, and you MAY be offended by it. Right?

It also depends on who is doing the joking. If it a close friend that I can trust, and we have a rapport for joking in that vein, then I know exactly what they mean. But, if it is someone that has been sly and hostile in the past to me, why should I not consider the comment as hostile, or a veiled jab? Dave once falsely accused me of something, I forget what. I asked for an apology. he failed to do so. Because of his tactics I called him "sly" and was called to apologize for calling Dave "sly" by another on the group. I did. Then Dave turned right around and beat me up for days because I called him "sly", not once apologizing for the injustice that he had served on me, thus proving that he is hostile, sly, and untrustworthy, an opportunist, and willing to kick a Christian whan he is down. I opened up by apologizing for using a term that someone else thought was an ad-hom, and Dave took full advantage of the opportunity to deride me about it for several days. People like that do not have enough of my respect to get by with implying that I am a drug user, even in gest. I would even suggest that Dave apoligize to Dean and myself, but he has proven in the past that he is too proud to do that.

So, while you may think it is funny to see poor, tasteless and unwelcome humor directed at someone other than yourself, those on the recieving end may not.

Perry

Honestly , Perry, this is clearly a tongue in cheek sort of thing. It is humor. I doubt that anyone now believes that DH has an inside track on who is smoking up and who is not.

Dave, you asked Dean what he had been smoking. That is tantamount to calling him a drug user. You accused me of the same.

But...I'm pretty sure you aren't a doper, despite sounding like >one at times. And again FTR.....I never claimed you are a backstabber.
